This week I have continued on working on my Unity game prototype. So far the progress has been slow but somewhat decent. Although later on into development, unity has started to acting up on my Macbook. The progress I have made so far is mapping out my first level and then what I did was add in some basic 3-D shapes to create a platformer level. The prototype and first levels platforming will be rather basic as im starting out and so is the player when they try it. The level will use 3-D shapes such as Planes and Cubes as effective Platforms and the character model needs more work. I am aiming to implement a decent character model, possibly music, some gems to collect and one or two enemies.

Hey Nathan,
ReplyDeleteI can relate to you in terms of progress,my game isn't much different than yours from this point however what i do recommend is adding textures! It really makes a huge different and takes it that one step further in making it look better. I don't know the exact details of the game but if it's outdoor, in the first or second jimmy vegas tutorial he'll show you how to do it! From the looks of the screenshot I don't know if you have a terrain but if you don't, it's essential to add one in, once you know how to add textures and mountains to it , its actually super fun cause it's customized by you! There's also lots of free assets available in the unity store so if you're looking for characters that might be the way to go about it! and all youd have to do would be coding to give them functionality! Good Luck with the rest of your game!
