This blog post is about my final GDD for my game. This will help me plan out my game and know what I need to implement it. Here is the link to my GDD on Dundoc
I am part of the Chris Carneys and James Reynolds team for the game, the game is a 3D experience of 1916 Rising. We are going to recreate Dublin from references. Description of the Game: "You play as Micahel “Foggy” Fogarty, a 16-year-old boy who after witnessing the murder of his father joins the Irish Republican Brotherhood. Foggy travels with his division to Dublin, Easter weekend in 1916 to take part in the Rising and is tasked with passing messages from the GPO to other key locations the IRB and Civilian Army holds." My role in the production of this game is GDA Creator, I work with the writer and team leader to create a GDA to help out other teams and to help the writer sort out the story, names and characters. Here is a video of the GDD: (NOTE: The GDD in the video was created and provided by Chris Carney and James Reynolds to the group, I did not create it nor do I take credit for its creation or the ideas in it)
Hey Nathan!,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading through your Game Design Document from your DunDoc page. I found your Game Design Document to be really informative and interesting. It looks like you really know what your talking about and what you plan to do for your game. I can't wait to see your prototype for your game and see you expand on your game further! Anyways Great blog post!
Hi Nathan,
ReplyDeleteBoy does this game sound fun, I can't wait to play it. It seems the controls and how you layered it out seem to be a fun and interesting game. I would definitely play it as it had similarities to the game "Hobo" which I played as a kid and really enjoyed it. I will definitely line up to play it.
Hi Nathan, I really like the concept of your game, it definably feels more mystery adventure orientated with action and lots of stuff to do, I like the aspect of being on the chance from angry bandits who will stop at nothing to get the gem back makes me kind of want to play it now, but I think maybe a few things to consider could be adding in some puzzles to solve in order to collect pieces in order to form a book in which will give you the main reason they want the gem or you could just make it a page with bits instead, another thing you could add might be riddles to open areas to get power ups etc in order to help you defeat certain bad guys who you won’t beat without that item. all and all your game look well put together and I’m looking forward to seeing the finished game.
