When thinking about what to do for Dundoc, I had to carefully think about what I wanted in the game but also to keep in mind my skills, limitations, the fact I want the game to have a challenge but still be fun. So I had to understand what was needed and make sure everything is thought out well.
My thoughts on Dundoc is that I find it rather useful I can put down everything on there that will be in the game and helps give me a scope of what's needed and can be amended if anything arises. It takes a while to get used to but everything has a section and helps focus and categorise the different elements of the game and what is required. Here is a link to Dundoc .

Hi Nate, that's a decent Game Design Document. It's all very detailed and well thought out. Despite all that, you're still missing some valid information like character design, both for Doe and enemies alike.
ReplyDeleteyou're also missing level design. That also raises questions like, will there be design diversity when it comes to levels? Or is it all a one continuous level? Sure we'll all get there eventually but it's just better to get these things out sorted before hand so you're not stuck during the game making process. But ye overall very good, can't wait to see the game.
Hey Nathan,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your game design document it was really well layed out and explained. I really got a feel for your game and the overall mood you want portrayed throughout. There was just a tiny few things missing but it was still very good and there was a lot of effort put into it I look forward to seeing your game when its done.
